In our opening film sequence, we used Blumhouse Productions, a subsidiary institution who are owned by an oligopoly - Universal Pictures. This makes our film opening seem more professional as this company has produced many well-known and high achieving films. We decided to use this institution, because they have produced many films similar to our genre and style. They also produced The Purge, which is a film we took inspiration from when creating our film opening. Furthermore, Blumhouse Productions’ logo has an eerie, horror look, which fits with our genre. This ensures continuity runs throughout our film opening, as the eerie feeling is reflected throughout, with sound, mise en scene, editing and camerawork as well as with the media institution.
